  • MALAGANA: Stylish hangout in the heart of Getsemani. Rooftop with stunning views. Happy hour from 6pm-8pm.

  • CREPES & WAFFLES: If you've never been to a Crepes & Waffles and you're looking for lighter or vegetarian options, you've gotta try it. We love it!  Opens at lunchtime on weekdays and they have a great fresh fruit selection for brunch/breakfast on weekends.

  • SE VOLVIO PRISPRI COFFEE SHOP: Small coffee shop for breakfast, a quick bite or a snack and some good vegan/vegetarian options.

  • SIERVA MARIA: This a really good option to try any fried street-snacks in a non-street setting. Great fresh fruit juice selection, so dare to try things you haven't before, like Jugo de Corozo or Jugo de Lulo. Good wifi.

  • STREET FOOD: AREPAS CON QUESO @ PARQUE DE BOLIVAR. We love, love, love  them! These are a must every time we've been in Cartagena. Cheap($1000 COL), fresh,  filling and super cheesy. There's usually a guy in a car in Parque de Bolivar, near the Cathedral.

  • EL BISTRO: Great casual atmosphere, good food and great Limonadas con Coco and local beers (lemonade with coconut milk, trust us, delicious!)

  • CON-FUSSION: Cute and kitcsh restaurant with caribbean fare in a renovated 4-story Getsemani residence. The  views of the lively Plaza de la Santisima Trinidad below are incredible, and possibly the highlight here.

  • LA CEVICHERIA : Small and super trendy restaurant in the hear of  San Diego. Known for its ceviche, seafood paella and mojitos.

  • JUAN DEL MAR: There are three restaurants with a similar name in the same square in San Diego. One serves Peruvian food, another one Pizza and Juan del Mar Restaurante serves Caribbean seafood. It's said to be the best one of the three even though they are owned by the same Juan.  Live band 7 days a week and well known for its authentic caribbean dishes served straight from grandma's cook book.  Reserve ahead of time. It's always busy.

  • LA VITROLA: It's said to be the best restaurant in Cartagena. Cuban/Caribbean inspired menu and live music inside a 400yr old house. Waitlist can be long, so try to reserve ahead of time.
